Commissioning a Portrait
General Ordering Information
All Paintings are made on an artist's canvas. The artist only uses oils. The smaller portraits are made on a flat canvas (canvas mounted directly to a hard board), while larger portraits are painted on a box style canvas (a canvas with a lip on the back so the canvas does not touch a hard surface.)
You and the artist will discuss your preferences for size and style. Then together you will look over your photographs and choose an appropriate one for the painting. Please view the tip sheet for getting the perfect photo that captures your pet, person, or place. All photographs will be returned.
If you live locally the artist is available to photograph your subject for a $50 fee.
A non-refundable deposit of half the cost of the painting is required when the artist begins the work. The remaining balance can be paid upon completion and accepctance of the artwork.
Upon completion of the portrait the artist will send a digital proof via email. If you are happy with the finished product final payment wil be requested prior to delivery.
Portraits may be any dimension you choose, the standard sizes and prices are listed on this website. You may choose a larger portrait or custom size to fit a specific space in your home or office. The price of a custom size portrait will vary.
Portraits take from 1-3 months (currently) depending on the number of commissions the artist is working on. Holidays are busy, so order early for Christmas.
The artist ships worldwide via UPS, standard shipping within the U.S. is included in the cost of the portrait.
